“The Heroic Quest of The Valiant Prince Ivandoe” is a Cartoon Network Original tv-series on which we were the creators, directors, writers and executive producers.
It was the second Cartoon Network Original to ever be commissioned from Europe, since “The Amazing World of Gumball”, and the first CN show made in Denmark.

We came up with the idea and main characters for “Ivandoe” in 2015, while working for Cartoon Network in London. “Ivandoe” was the 7th tv-series idea we pitched to CN, and once finally greenlit, we then developed and wrote the show with the wonderful Daniel Lennard, who also became our co-creator. 
The three of us wrote most of the scripts, but also had a writing team later on while still being part of the writing process.

The series has been BAFTA- and Annecy-nominated and won a handful of international awards, including The Atomo Network Award for ‘Best Web Series’ at the 3D Wire Festival in Spain, and 4 Emile Awards - ‘Best Direction’, ‘Best Storyboarding’, ‘Best BG & Design’ and ‘Best Animation’ - at the European Animation Awards.

The 1st Season of the series was 10 shorts of 2-3 mins. They were all produced with a small team in Sun Creature Studio in Copenhagen.

The backgrounds were all made of miniature sets, which were hand-built, lit and photographed as stop-motion sets, before adding hand drawn 2D animation, mixed with a bit of stop-motion keys.
The sets were built mainly by organic materials (branches and sticks from the forest) to get the natural, imperfect textures and details of nature. And also because it was fun.
